Can I play too?

In this scene young Spirit leaves his mother to investigate two strangers playing on a nearby hill. There he finds Mahpiya the female bison calf and Cusoke the male white-tailed deer fawn. Mahpiya is quiet and clever while Cusoke is plucky, friendly and adventurous. They become fast friends and remain close throughout their lives. When they grow up and become the leaders of their respective herds there is little time to socialise, but occasionally the three friends meet and mischief ensues.

So why was this scene cut? Because Spirit already has some interspecies friendships, plus there would have been too much cute for one movie
